Bed & Breakfast your way through the Canadian Badlands

The Canadian Badlands region is host to some of Canada’s most intriguing travel experiences. From river valleys, picturesque canyons, and huge prairie skies you will be sure to find the perfect accomodation to meet your needs when you “Bed and Breakfast” your way through the Badlands.
What exactly is a Bed & Breakfast?
A true Bed and Breakfast (B&B) is an accommodation with the owner living on (or nearby) the premises, who provides clean, attractive accommodations, wonderful breakfasts and provides expert advice on the area.
A B&B differs from a hotel in that the innkeeper usually owns the property and resides there. There are usually fewer than six guest rooms and your host can provide very personal attention. The individual attention available at a B&B is unsurpassed by any other type of accommodation. All successful B&Bs have one thing in common: the owners like people and enjoy having them in their home.
The internet is a great way to research the Canadian Badlands and find the perfect B&B accommodation. The Canadian Badlands B&B Association consists of 11 members. You will find B&Bs in Drumheller, Hanna, and Brooks each with their own flavor and uniqueness.
Giselle Mandrusiak, Association president and owner of Urban Place B&B in Drumheller says,” When guests are unfamiliar with the area, it allows me the opportunity to give them tips and suggestions about what to do, where to eat and great places to visit.”
Darrell and Dawna Motz, owners of That Country Place B&B in Hanna, says,” Hanna is where the grasslands meet the badlands. Our B&B is a completely seperate building from our home, offering our guests privacy and country comfort. The vastness, peacefulness and beauty of the prairies surprise a lot of our guests and they enjoy the attention to detail we have incorporated into our B&B. For many of our guests, it has been the first time they have stayed at a B&B, they have enjoyed their stay and say they will definately look for B&Bs when travelling again.”
A Lakeshore B&B, located in Brooks, is owned by Kathy and Richard Gette. “ Our area is known as the playground of the Badlands. We offer spa treatments and luxury at the lake for guests who want to be pampered and get away from everyday stresses. Our guests are treated very special and we are able to offer information about our area from a very personal perspective. B&B owners are unique in that they take ownership of their businesses and are more than happy to promote the area they live in and make it a great experience for visiting guests.”
