The DVSS Dynos Grade 8/9 Junior Basketball team played well at their home tournament.
The Dynos hosted a five-team tournament on Saturday, January 25 and had some top-flight talent invited.
The Dynos first matched up against Crowther Memorial Junior High School out of Strathmore. It was a well-fought game, however, Crowther pulled out a win.
The Dynos then went on to play in the bronze medal match final where they played George Freeman School of Strathmore. This was another competitive game, but George Freeman was able to take the win.
Despite the results, coach Crystal Sereda says she is proud of the team.
“They are a very hard-working, respectful team,” she said. “We have a lot of fun and they want to be there.”
She says the players have been improving throughout the season getting ready for the postseason.
“That is the goal of playing in tournaments is to work on what we learned in practice so we can be better for really important games,” said Sereda. “When you play harder teams, you get better.”
