The DVSS senior boys Dynos are bringing winning momentum to the league final and  zone tournament this weekend after a third place tournament finish.

Last weekend the Dynos basketball team travelled to Brooks to compete in a 16-team tournament, and came home with a bronze medal.
In the first game the Dynos played Calgary Foundations for Future Charter Academy and defeated them soundly 90 to 50. Jordan Britton led all scorers with 31 points and 10 rebounds.
In the second game the Dynos went up against the 8th ranked team in 3A basketball, the host team Brooks Composite High School. The Dynos started sluggish in the first quarter, but managed to recover and pull away with a 96 to 62 victory.
In the semi final, the Dynos played a well-known opponent, the Acme Redmen. The Dynos started strong but some foul trouble late in the second allowed Acme to take a 10-point lead going into half.
In the second half after starting the third quarter slow, and going down 16 points, the Dynos managed to fight back and close the gap to four points going into the fourth quarter. With two minutes left in the game and trailing by eight the Dynos managed to get some key stops and some big shots to pull within one point.
However, with five seconds left and a good look at the basket, the Dynos came up inches short of pulling out the victory and lost 75 to 74.
In the third place game, the Dynos met Winston Churchill High School from Lethbridge. The Dynos came out strong and took a 12-point lead early. Eventually the Dynos came away with a 92 to 77 point victory and  third place.
Tournament all stars were Jordan Britton, Daulton Smith, Cody Gouin and Kyle Smith.
The Dynos play for the league championship on Wednesday in Acme and return to Brooks next weekend for the zone tournament.
