Chamber golf tourney tees off in August

The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce is ready to hit the links for another year, in their annual best-ball golf tournament on August 7.
Barry Fullerton of the Chamber said he hopes this year’s annual fundraiser will be bigger than ever, and expects to bring in 120 golfers.
On Friday, August 7, the balls will begin to fly at 9 a.m., where teams of four can hit the greens of the Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club for a chance to win donated prizes, and to bid on items at the silent auction.
Teams of four can register together for $125 at a discount of $25 of the regular price.
Funds raised at the event are used to fund the Canada Day 2010 events in Drumheller, send a youth to an entrepreneur camp, and to help fund the various bursaries and scholarships the Chamber offers to students of Drumheller Composite High School and St. Anthony’s.
Last year, the event raised $6,000 towards these programs, with a total of 80 golfers teeing off.
