The Drumheller Cricket Association is inviting the community to come and check out some cricket action at the 4th annual Drumheller Valley Challenge Cup.
The Club is hosting a T40 Limited-over cricket match on Sunday, May 25 at Newcastle Beach.
Sasidharan Sivam of the Drumheller Cricket Association tells the Mail there will be 26 youth under 15 playing in the match that features the Calgary Western Chinook and the Drumheller Valley Challengers.
The Challengers will be captained by local cricket player Shamrudhann Prahan Sasidharan.
Shamruddhann has been very busy playing on a number of teams, honing his skills. He was drafted to the S. John’s Calgary team as well as the U17 CNDCL Calgary Colts, and also played in the U20 Future Cricket Star League.
Sasidharan tells the Mail that the tournament has received lots of local support.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, and goes until 5 p.m. Not only will there be great cricket action, but also delicious Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) and South Indian snacks.
