Bantam Titans advance to playoffs

The Bantam Titans are one step closer to a championship and a shot at provincials.
The Titans hosted the Ponoka Broncs on Saturday, October 30. It was a run and gun game with the Titans coming out on top 58-44.
“It was certainly an exciting game. I didn’t really know what to expect. I know our offense really came together and were able to put some points on the board, it was a bit of a shoot-out,” said coach Brad Iverson.
The Titans were down by two touchdowns early, but as the second quarter drew to a close, they rallied and brought the score to 32-30 for the Broncs. They carried the momentum into the second half and pulled out the win.
“Our defence has been a bit of a work in progress, but we had a stronger second half. So we are going to build on that and take it into the finals,” said Iverson.
He was encouraged by how the team was able to regroup and come back.
“We have really been a second-half team in the last four games,” said Iverson.
This weekend the Titans will be playing in the Central Alberta Football League 9-man final; game time and the opponent has yet to be determined. If they are successful, they have a shot at extending their post-season to the next level.
“A win next weekend, and we are off to the tier two provincials.”
