The Bantam Titans are off to a rough start this season, dropping to 0-2 on the season early this season after a tough loss to the Stettler Cougars on Saturday.
The team hosted the Cougars at home in a double header home opener weekend on September 14, with the Terps playing earlier that morning.
Coming off a 14-28 loss against Sylvan Lake to open the season on the road, the team wanted to get a win against the Cougars to kick off their home campaign. But player Luke Miles said the team struggled to get things together.
“It was a tough game and we just couldn’t get it done when we needed it,” said Miles.
The bantams went scoreless, losing 0-32 to Stetttler in a game which saw a Titans player taken off the field by ambulance after a late game hit, causing the team to kneel on the sidelines. Shawn Hems says he and the team will rally around him when they play Calgary next weekend.
“We have faith in our team and after this game we’ll have motivation to play for Terry,” said player Shawn Hems.
Boston Pizza had staff and volunteers at the field selling pizza, raising over $300 for the Titans organization.
Senior Titans
The Senior Titans were on the road Friday night in Wetaskawin, winning 19-6 against a strong Wetaskawin team. The team moves up to fifth in the Football Alberta Tier 4 power ranking with a 3-0 record so far this regular season.
