Dinosaur Valley Half turns 10 this weekend

IMG 0549

As racers take to the course this Sunday, September 8 at the Badlands Community Facility, they will be marking the 10th anniversary of the Dinosaur Valley Half Marathon.
The grassroots road race that features a family 5k, 10k and a full half marathon, has remained a fixture in the community and become a destination run for runners from Alberta and beyond.
Over its 10 years, it continues to be popular with more than 500 already registered for this year’s event
In its short history, it has raised more than $100,000 for the Badlands Community Facility and other local athletic pursuits. It still garners great community support with many local individuals and organizations volunteering for the event every year.
The half marathon leaves the Badlands Community Facility at 8:30 a.m., the 10k at 8:45 a.m and the 5 k at 9 a.m. There is an early start time for the half marathon for those who need some extra time
While the race is less than a week away, there is still time to sign up for the event. Go to  https://www.dinosaurhalf.com, and click on the registration link. Racers can also register up until a half-hour before the run starts.
