Condolences to the family of Sally Anne Walker

Sallys picture

May 12, 1946 - July 6, 2025

Mom was born on May 12, 1946, in Vulcan, Alberta, and grew up in Bow Island and Grassy Lake. After high school, she completed a Nursing Aide course and found her calling in caring for others. Her warmth and compassion made her a natural in the profession.
While training, she met Dennis Walker through his cousin Betty, who happened to be a fellow nursing student and friend of Sally’s. They married on August 6, 1966, in Hanna, Alberta and settled in Rumsey, Alberta, where they raised three children: Kendra, Curt, and Angie. Mom chose to focus on family, always putting others first. She was our quiet strength—supportive, loving, and endlessly kind.
She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Anne Seredynski, and her sister, Mary Glufke.
She leaves behind Dennis, her husband of 58 years; her children Kendra (Lance) Kiemele, Curt (Sharon) Walker, and Angie Van Straten; her grandchildren Matthew Kiemele (Shelby Winther), Jonathan Kiemele (Amy), Noel Kiemele (Hanna Jaeger-Hobson), Mackenna Walker, Seth Walker, and Dextin Van Straten; and great-grandchildren Harper and Cassidy. She was joyfully awaiting the arrival of Jon and Amy’s baby in October.
She will be deeply missed by her family, extended relatives, and all who knew her.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Rumsey Community Hall on Tuesday, July 15th at 1:00 pm.
Donations can be made to: Canadian Mental Health Association.

September 28, 1969 - June 25, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Kenny Glover—affectionately known to many as “Hippie” or “Cool Kenny”—on June 25, 2025. Born on September 28, 1969 in Drumheller, Alberta, Kenny was the cherished son of Ken and Linda Glover.
From the very beginning, Kenny’s warm spirit and generous heart shone through. A kind, giving, and deeply caring soul, he was always ready to lend a hand—anywhere, anytime—to anyone in need. He found simple joys in tending his garden, watching things grow under his care, and spending quiet afternoons with his beloved dogs by his side.
Kenny’s laughter and gentle wisdom touched everyone he met. He believed that small acts of kindness could change the world, and he lived that belief every day. Whether sharing from his garden or offering a comforting word, Kenny left a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is lovingly remembered by:
His parents, Ken and Linda Glover, His sister, Caralee (and husband Aaron)His nieces, Kayla and Kendra, His nephew, James, His brother, Tanner, His niece, Aubree, His nephew, Cohen, His cousins, Sabrina and Lindy (and their families), His Cousins John and Michelle (and their families) , And his cousin Megan, whom he loved like a daughter
A celebration of Kenny’s life was held on Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene. The interment will follow immediately thereafter for family members only. All friends and loved ones are warmly invited to join the family at the Rosedale Hall for a Celebration of Life reception, where we will share memories, stories, and laughter in Kenny’s honor.
In keeping with Kenny’s generous spirit, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta & N.W.T. or to the Drumheller District Humane Society, causes that were close to his heart.
Though Kenny has left us far too soon, the kindness he sowed and the love he shared will continue to bloom in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace, knowing that he made the world a better place simply by being in it.
