Ralph Eldon Jensen, beloved husband of Gladys Jensen, passed away on March 7, 2010 at the age of eighty-eight years. Ralph is survived by his three children; Randy (Telenea) Jensen of Drumheller, Larry (Glenda) Jensen of Bassano and Laurie (Darrell) Berlando of Drumheller. He is also survived by his remaining brothers Wally (Joan) Jensen of Strathmore and Craig (Laurie) Jensen of Calgary. Ralph was born in Standard in 1921. He grew up on a farm just outside of Standard. He joined the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in December 1941 and served in Canada and overseas until 1945. He returned to marry the love of his life, Gladys, in December of 1947. Ralph and Gladys moved to Rosebud where they armed and raised their family. In 1966 Ralph, Gladys and family moved to Drumheller. The following year they moved to a farm/ranch in the Craigmyle/Delia area, where they remained until their retirement in 1988, at which time they returned to Drumheller.  Throughout his life, Ralph was an avid sportman and talented athlete. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, boxing and curling. As his children became active in sports, Ralph traded in his own blades and enjoyed sports through them and then ultimately through his grandchildren. He was a number one fan! In 2009, Ralph took up residency in “Memory Lane”, in the Drumheller Continuing Care Center where he remained under their attentive care until his passing. Ralph was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by his children, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Dale in 1977 and grand-daughter Jana in 1982. Per Ralph’s request there will be no service. A private celebration of life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
