Raymond
August 7, 1938 - March 9, 2023
Raymond was born on August 7, 1938, and grew up on a farm near Edberg, Alberta. He left the farm to attend the University of Alberta to pursue a career in teaching. He taught in Meeting Creek and Edmonton before moving to Drumheller. Raymond devoted over 30 years of his life teaching at the Drumheller Composite High School. Raymond and his wife, Esther, retired to Airdrie in 2010.
Raymond enjoyed volunteering at the church playing the piano and organ, teaching Sunday School, and serving as a Board Member. He also volunteered at the nursing home, with the Badlands Passion Play, and as a host & disc jockey for a Christian Radio Program. Raymond loved travelling, listening to music, and attending many family gatherings.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Esther, three daughters, Karen (Greg) Schindel, Shelley Peckford, and Denise (Scott) McCrea, six grandchildren, as well as a large circle of family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at BP Church (16 Bermuda Drive NW, Calgary) or by live stream at https://live.bpchurch.ca/
