NELSON
James Clinton

February 18, 1928 - April 14, 2022
94 Years

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James C. Nelson of Trochu. Jim passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Healthcare Centre in Trochu at the age of 94 years.
Jim was the third son of Leonard and Anna Nelson. He grew up on the family farm at Rumsey, attending school at Two Valley View, Anthill and Rowley. After
completing school Jim attended Tech in Calgary, studying agriculture mechanics. Jim met the love of his life, Maureen, in Calgary. Mom and Dad were married June 10, 1950 and returned to Rumsey to take over the farm.
Jim was a man of few words and many talents. He had a passion for farming, repairing anything and everything and restoring antique vehicles, he passed this love along to his son Reg and many hours were spent in the shop tinkering on their projects.
Dad was very proud to call Rumsey home, he was a member of the Rumsey Ag Society and was instrumental in the building of the Agri-Plex and Community Hall.
Jim took great pride in everything he did especially being a Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Jimmy” to everyone in the Rumsey community.
Jim and Maureen moved to Trochu in 2007. They resided there until 2016, at which time they took up residence at the Chateau, in Three Hills, before moving to St. Mary’s Healthcare Centre, Trochu in 2019.
Greeting Jim in heaven are his loving wife Maureen, who passed away in October 2021 after 71 ½ years together; his beloved son Reg; his parents Leonard and Anna; brothers and sisters-in-law Lowell and Lizzie, Bud and Margaret; his sister and brother-in-law Ida and Sanford Sydness; In-laws Wilfred, Susan and Peggy Pineau and a host of wonderful extended family and friends.
