PERSINGER
Eileen Louise

April 7, 1934 - January 14, 2022

Eileen Louise Persinger passed away on January 14, 2022 at the age of 87. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Howard Persinger; daughter Shelley Loewen (Vic); daughter-in-law Debbie Persinger; brother Ed Coad and sister Jean McGhee; grandchildren Kevin (Stacey), Leanne (Joe), Heather (Keith), Amy (Drew), Mark (Lucille) and Erik; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in August 2021 by her son Leonard, brothers Stan and Lloyd and her sister Barbara.
Eileen was born on April 7, 1934 in Drumheller, AB. She was the fourth child of Robert and Bernice Coad. Eileen attended school in Munson, Drumheller and later went to Olds College, where she received a certificate in Home Economics. Her first job was with the ATB in Drumheller. Eileen met Howard at a dance on November 11, 1954. They were married on November 10, 1956. After following Howard around on road construction projects for 2 years, they took over the family farm in Munson in 1958. Leonard was born in 1959 and Shelley completed the family in 1960. While on the farm, Eileen developed a passion for gardening and growing flowers, a skill she took with her when they retired and moved to Drumheller in 1990. Howard and Eileen loved to golf with friends and family as often as possible. They also enjoyed many Hawaiian vacations together with friends and often travelled to Green Valley, Arizona to visit her brothers. They moved to Airdrie in 2015.
Eileen will be missed by many and will be remembered for her amazing cooking, love of her family, calm and pleasant demeanor and her beautiful flowers.
A service will be held at a later date.
