Philip Blair Nelson passed away from cancer on February 19, 2019 in Red Deer, AB. Philip (Phil) was born in Drumheller, AB on June 13, 1960. He spent his childhood residing in Rosedale, AB with his parents Joyce and Lennart Nelson and his brother Dave Nelson. After high school, Phil attended SAIT and received his Civil Engineer Technician diploma. Phil spent 11 years working with Alberta Transportation in Drumheller and his career then took him to Red Deer, AB. Phil took pride in his work creating roads, parks and subdivisions. He also took pride in his two surviving daughters, Janine Nelson (Garrett Bogle) and Melany Nelson (Jisoa Lim), as well as his extended family. Phil loved his family, friends, golf, billiards, and a good argument. He was a very kind, giving and loyal man and he will be deeply missed. His family welcomes any friends and family to help celebrate Phil’s life on Saturday, May 4, 2:00 p.m. at the Rosedale Hall. As Phil used to always say, “I’ll see ya when I see ya”.
