Betty was predeceased by her husband Len and by her 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Betty was raised in the Lancaster area of England and after her schooling worked for 9 years before moving to Canada to marry Len (the love of her life). Betty met Len when he was stationed in England with the Canadian Army during WW2 and after their marriage in Calgary, took up residence farming west of Rowley, where they raised their family. Betty has always had a great passion for all types of dancing, especially for square dancing, round dancing, and ballroom dancing. Betty began teaching dance at home on the farm and later progressed to teaching in halls and school gymnasiums. She later taught ballroom dancing for Further Education assisted by her daughter Lyn. Betty had a remarkable ability to make a special connection with everyone she met and her lovable ways will be sadly missed by all that knew her. A Memorial Service for Betty will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Carlos Calderon officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Charity of ones’ choice. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
