WILSON, Myrtle Louella
(nee Sowerby)
August 26, 1933 - October 25, 2011

Myrtle “Mert” Louella Wilson (nee Sowerby) was born in Nacmine, Alberta on August 26, 1933 and passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital on October 25, 2011 at the age of 78.  Myrtle is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donald Blair, her brother Brian Sowerby and sister Donna Gardam, her son Donald James, her grandchildren Michelle (Kevin), Donald Christopher (Michelle), Robert (Kylee), Stephanie (Steve) and “adopted” grandson Chad, as well as great-grandchildren Talin (Donald), Gabriel and “Baby Wilson” due in May (Robert and Kylee).  Myrtle was predeceased by her father William Sowerby, her mother Jean Sowerby (nee Panasky), her aunts Mary and Olga and her uncle Cerky.  Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was well known for her sharp wit, quick tongue and willingness to speak her mind.  For these and many other qualities she will be missed dearly.  At Myrtle’s request a private burial was held at the Drumheller Municipal Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Dr. Racz and all the nurses and staff at the Drumheller Hospital for the excellent care that Myrtle received, as well as the many friends and family that have shown their kindness and shared their condolences during this difficult time.  Your thoughtfulness and compassion has helped to keep us strong as we mourn the loss of an important part of our family.
