Coats for Kids this Friday

The second annual Coats for Kids campaign by Western Chevrolet Drumheller will be taking gently used winter gear– coats, gloves, boots, this Friday in an effort to recycle invaluable clothing items.

All winter gear, for kids and adults, can be dropped off at the dealership’s showroom throughout the day of November 5. All items will be donated to the Drumheller Salvation Army, to provide for families in the area.
All 300 of the coats collected last year were used up, says Barb Lubinski, Customer Attention Manager at Western Chevrolet.
“The Salvation Army services a large area, and there are many people who need these things,” Lubinski says. “The Salvation Army allows people to get this gear for nearly nothing.”
This will be a one day blitz. Although called Coats for Kids, they intend to collect any adult and kids winter wear– snow pants, hats, scarves, mittens, and boots.
“It gives people who don’t necessarily have nephews, nieces, or other family to pass these things on to donate. It’s good to recycle,” Lubinski says.
IGA will be providing refreshments, and Alsco Linen and Supply will provide free dry cleaning for all items before they are donated to The Salvation Army.
