A Delia man has been charged  for allegedly  intentionally hitting two others with a motor vehicle on New Year's Day.
On January 1 at 12:30 p.m.,  Drumheller RCMP members attended to a collision at the intersections of 3rd Ave and 4th Street West in Drumheller, beside the Navy League Building. Badlands EMS and the Drumheller Fire Department also attended to the scene.
The operator of a pick-up truck hit two pedestrians, a parked vehicle, and the residence situated at the SE corner of that intersection.
One person who was hit was beneath the truck when emergency responders came upon the scene. The pedestrians who were hit, Judith Greer and Jason Cardinal were taken to the Drumheller Health Centre. Cardinal was then air lifted via STARS  to a  Calgary hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. Judith Greer was treated and released.
There were three people inside the residence and were uninjured.
According to a police release, subsequent investigation has determined the incident occurred as a result of domestic violence.
Apparently, the man operating the vehicle intentionally drove his truck into Jason Cardinal to cause injury.  In doing so, Judith Greer was also struck, as well as her car.
Gerald Greer of Delia faces two charges of criminal negligence causing injury, two charges of dangerous driving causing injury and one charge of breech of an undertaking.
Gerald Greer was bound by an undertaking at the time of this occurrence. He was not to have contact with Judith Greer due to a previous incident.
Gerald Greer was remanded into custody and will be appearing in court in Drumheller on Wednesday, January 6.
