Prism shines for local fans

The Drumheller Memorial Arena was rocking as the first ever Country-Celtic Rock Music Festival went on Saturday, July 11. Local singer songwriter Jan Krueger, country crooner Rick Tremblay and the Celtic stompers Fraid Knot all took the stage to great appreciation from the audience.
The headliner however, Prism, brought down the house from the opening chord of Spaceship Superstar to the thunder of Armageddon. Music fans danced sang and dusted off their air guitar to the band’s classic hits, as well as new material from their latest album they are touring to promote.
According to organizer, Bill Webster the show went off without a hitch. Prism interacted with the crowd throughout the show and stuck around after the show to sign autographs and talk to fans.
Webster was also one of the big winners at the show, He and Greg Morell each were the high bidder for two guitars given away at the show. A bigger highlight for Webster was when he was invited on stage for the band’s encore. He sang back up for the band as they reprised Spaceship Superstar at the end of the show.
The show was in benefit of the Valley Bus Society in Drumheller. Webster said it is still too early to estimate how much funding the society will receive.
