Strong support for keeping rail line

About 48 residents of the valley and surrounding communities came out to the Drumheller Inn on Thursday, June 25 to learn more about options upon the announcement of a notice of discontinuance of the rail line from Lyalta to Oyen. Brad Weibe of Palliser Regional Municipal Services laid out the process of discontinuance, case studies and options that could be pursued. Drumheller Mayor Bryce Nimmo who attended the event said the most important aspect of the meeting was the support shown by people in the communities who are willing to help.
