Kneehill County implements pay parking at Horseshoe Canyon

Horseshoe Canyon Pay Parking

A pay parking pilot at Horseshoe Canyon will be implemented by Kneehill County this summer which will run from mid-May to the September long weekend.
Visitors will be charged $2 per visit with funds going towards the continued care and conservation of the canyon.
“Horseshoe Canyon is such a unique and beautiful site--it needs to be preserved and enjoyed for years to come,” said Kneehill County Reeve Jerry Wittstock.
Staff will be onsite at Horseshoe Canyon between Thursday and Monday beginning in May and continuing through the summer season to accept fees, welcome guests, and provide tourism information about other destinations in Kneehill County and the surrounding Badlands.
Success of the program will be evaluated and presented to Kneehill County council for further direction at the end of the 2021 season.
