The Drumheller Emergency Management Agency has been working throughout the weekend to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We are increasing the frequency of cleaning our facilities, stockpiling supplies and contacting community organizations to assist them with planning or rescheduling programming.

We are providing an updated list on our website Drumheller.ca. If you are aware of any event cancellations, please post it on our Facebook page information, so we can update our website.

Residents who have recently returned from travelling outside of Canada and are still active in our community. You must follow the Alberta Health guidelines and self-isolate for 14 days.

Please Stay Home.

On Sunday, March 15, at 4:30 PM, Alberta Health has provided the following updates:

  • School Closures – All schools, post secondary institutions and daycare facilities have been indefinitely cancelled for students (staff are to report to work)
  • Long Term Care Facilities – essential personnel only – NO VISITORS
  • Worship Facilities – all events over 250 are cancelled

Town Council has met with local business owners to develop plans on how they can maintain operations while maintaining social distancing. They will provide further updates as they become available.

We know COVID-19 will come to Drumheller, we just don’t know when. We are doing everything we can to minimize the spread to our community. We need your leadership and participation to achieve this.

Remember, if everything gets cancelled and we have to stay home, that’s the point. That’s how we stop the spread.

We are committed to keeping our community safe and are insisting you follow Alberta Health’s instructions.
