Peewee Raptors win league final in shootout

    The Drumheller NGC Hi-Way 9 Peewee Raptors have captured their league banner.
    The Raptors were in the final versus Chestermere in the weekend three-game series. They topped Oyen in the semi-final to make it to the Championship series.
    Game one was in Chestermere on Friday, March 6. Chestermere scored first but Reid Mcfarlane tied it up in the first period. Gavin Olsen scored two in the second period to go up 3-1. Memphis Roes added one in the third period as the Raptors took game 1 with a score of 4-1.
    Game two was on Saturday, March 7 in Drumheller. After a scoreless first period, Ryker Straub and Kayden Bitz scored in the second period but were down 3-2. Chestermere took over in the third, with three unanswered goals, taking game 2 with a score of 6-2.
    Game three was back in Chestermere on Sunday, March 8. Kayden Bits scored first, but Chestermere had the advantage, of leading 4-1 after the first period.
    David Morton and Owen Phoenix brought the Raptors back in the second and Bitz tied it up in the third period unassisted.
    After a scoreless triple overtime, the game went to a shootout and the Raptors took the victory. Corbin Moulton stopped 27 shots.
    The Raptors now play Cremona and Claresholm to see who goes to provincials! Both games are in Drumheller this weekend.
