Big Valley's Zeke Thurston wins WNFR

    Big Valley cowboy Zeke Thurston seems to be making a habit of winning, coming home from the 61st annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) as champion.
    The 24-year-old Saddle Bronc competitor posted a score of 88.5 on his final ride after a strong competition, where just days before setting a record in round seven with a 92.5 point ride.
    “I don’t know if I have words for how I feel right now. I wanted this one even more that I wanted that first one,” awesome,” said Thurston, in a Pro Rodeo Canada release. He also won the WNFR in 2016.
    Thurston has been having a spectacular
season, winning the 2019 Canadian Championship, and in his career has collected the top payouts at the Calgary Stampede three times. By winning the Canadian Championship and the WNFR this season, this is the first time a cowboy has accomplished this feat since 2011.
    This total earnings for the WNFR is $170,-064. His season total is $347,055.
