The culture of Africa was celebrated on Saturday at the Badlands Community Facility and it was all for a good cause. Arica in the Valley featured music, dancing, dinner and a fusion show.

The event was in benefit of two siblings in Zambia who are in need of sickle cell treatment. The cost of the procedure $30,000 US each.

The event attracted about 300 people and raised over $21,000.

The Woeza Africa Music and Dance Theatre were a hit at the event and had attendees dancing in the aisles.

Those wishing to donate can go to the Chibilu Children Sickle Cell Fund GoFundMe page or donate to the Africa in the Valley Account at the local CIBC.
