Miners relic donated to Hockey Hall of Fame

Drumheller Miners Original Copy

Two different photographs of the 1966 Drumheller Miners Allan Cup winning team have been received since the January 10, edition of the Mail.
Doug Jensen and an anonymous donor came forward to donate their prized memorabilia. Jensen brought forth an original copy of the Drumheller Miners team photograph and the other person gave a framed Export A cut out of the Miners photograph.
These photo donations will complete the introduction of the team in the Senior Amature Exhibit in Toronto’s Hockey Hall of Fame.
Drumheller resident Gordon Clozza initially spotted the missing photograph while on vacation in late October, 2017.

He noticed that the Senior Amature Exhibit and video monitor only had a small description of the legendary team with nothing to accompany the description.
“We went there and I looked for the Senior Hockey Exhibit and I did find it and Drumheller was certainly named on the [Allan] Cup itself as the winner in 1966 but […] when I got to 1966 there was no Drumheller team so I thought “Well, we may need a photo of the Drumheller Miners, so that was my motivation to try all this anyways,” explained Clozza.
Clozza is elated to hear that the exhibit will soon be completed.
“I’m glad that we got some response and that should complete the exhibit now as far as Drumheller is concerned,” said Clozza.
The Mail has since sent the artifacts to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
