Fleet of foot

IMG 1222 edited

We caught up with three valley visitors last Wednesday as they passed through on footbikes, on their way to Quebec City. (l to r), Frederic Benoist, from France, Josef Kvita, from Edmonton and originally from Czech Republic, and Guido Pfeiffermann, from Austria, left Vancouver, and are foot biking across Canada, hoping to reach their destination in 45 days. Foot biking is a unique form of travel, like a stand up scooter, with handlebars, a front brake, and bicycle wheels. Riders push with one foot, and the other is on the centre, and when you get tried, you just change feet. They average 125 kilometres a day, and when asked if they get tired, Guido said, "We are in good shape."
