Members of the Drumheller Home School Support group enjoyed two very informative and interactive tours at the Drumheller RCMP detachment on Thursday, November 19.
Staff Sergeant Grant McDonald spent time engaging with children ages 3-17. He spent the day doing finger prints demonstrations, put them on the quad, showed them hand cuffs, the jail cell, the emergency lights on the cars, turned on the siren, showed them the crime scene tapes, spike belts and all other emergency equipment.
Sergeant MacDonald said  “Our youth are our greatest natural resource, it is important we engage in their lives.”

Constable Doucette explained the importance of wearing seat belts in case they were involved in an accident.
With the Christmas season quickly approaching he and other RCMP officers will be working hard to keep the public safe from those that choose to drive while under the influence of alcohol.
Constable Nelson spoke to the students about the dog handling unit. The students were very excited to meet Hennie, the new officer puppy.
Sandra Gullacher spoke about Staff Sargent Grant MacDonald, “It was an honor to have him tour us around the detachment. Thanks for such a positive learning opportunity!”
