The countdown is on until the streets will be chock full of monsters, ghosts and zombies roaming in search of the one thing that will sustain their evil desires... Candy.
Watch for this sign in the window of businesses participating in this year’s downtown trick or treat event.
A group of business people in Drumheller are once again hosting Happy Halloween Trick or Treat. This is a great way for families to come down and enjoy trick or treating with friends in a safe and wholesome atmosphere. Centre Street will be blocked off to make it safer.
Connie Tremblay is helping to organize and says they are inviting the whole community to the event. It has become a Halloween tradition. DARTS is again participating with its spooky haunted house.
“We are inviting the public to come and participate. I think it’s the biggest fun. It is for people who are really feeling like they are missing out because less kids are coming to their doors,” said Tremblay.
They will have some tables set up in the core for residents or other businesses that want to participate by giving out candy. The Pioneer Trail Centre will also be open for trick or treating and seniors are invited to come down and hand out candy.
“Having the Pioneer Trail Centre open will give some of the elderly a place to go, because some of them said they really miss having the kids come to their place,” said Tremblay. “This is for all of Drumheller.”
The Happy Halloween Trick or Treat is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. pm Thursday, October 31.
