Tailgating blamed for North Dinosaur Trail collision

North Dinosaur Trail by McMullen Island was the site of a destructive four car collision late Friday afternoon, but fortunately there were no serious injuries to any of the four vehicles' occupants. A vehicle travelling westbound slowed to turn in left into McMullen Island and then was struck from behind, sending the vehicle into the oncoming lane. A car heading eastbound collided with the vehicle. Badlands EMS, Drumheller Fire Department, and RCMP arrived quickly on the scene. Traffic was reduced to one lane as debris and glass were cleaned up. The vehicles' occupants were taken to the Drumheller Health Centre with minor injuries. Traffic was restored by 6:30 p.m. The driver of the truck who struck the vehicle turning left into McMullen Island from behind was ticketed for following too close.
