Rumsey man sentenced for possession of stolen property
On January 6 of this year, as a result of a complaint, RCMP were on their way to interview Glodek when they came across him. He had in his possession break-in instruments including bolt cutters, a reciprocating saw and tin snips. He was placed on probation in April of 2010, which includes a weapons prohibition and to carry his release paperwork. He had in his possession a BB gun and was without his release documents.
He pleaded guilty to possession of break-in instruments, possession of a weapon, breach of his release and not having release papers on his person.
From information received that day, police were able to secure a search warrant and executed it on a property the next day. Police discovered a number of stolen items including hand and shop tools and a scooter. He pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
Glodek was in custody since his arrest in January, but was able to secure release on March 17. One of his conditions was that he is to remain in the Calgary area. On March 22, he was arrested in the Rumsey area. He was in possession of a 2005 Ford F350 truck, stolen from Balzac and a stolen licence plate from Calgary.
The Crown and defence agreed that Glodek’s time spent in custody awaiting his guilty plea last Friday was an appropriate custodial sentence and agreed on a suspended sentence of two years.
Lourie Keller, who was also accused in relation to these incidents, saw her charges dropped.
