Dragons to auction off third jerseys

The Drumheller Dragons are unveiling a new look this weekend, and if you are the right bidder, you might get your hands on one of them.

The Dragons have been hush hush about their third jersey. The Dragons will be debuting them at their double header this weekend.
“We are only wearing them this weekend, and then we are going to be auctioning them off,” said Roxanne Clark marketing and business manager for the Drumheller Dragons. “The Jersey will be unveiled on Friday night when the puck drops, and the general public will have the opportunity to bid on the jerseys Friday and Saturday night.”
“Saturday night after the game, the team will line up on the ice and the winning bidder will meet their player when the player will take the game-worn jersey off their back and hand it to the winning bidder.”
There is no question the bidding will be strong, but there may be one that will be pretty popular. Former Dragon Trent Colberg will be in Drumheller for the November 6 game.
“We did do up a number 22 Colberg jersey, and Trent will be there for bidding on it as well,” said Clark.
She said this is a common activity for teams these days. They are keeping the new design a secret leading up to the game.  Will it be a new look, or will it be a throw back vintage style sweater?
“It is something we wanted to do to bring a little excitement to the arena,” said Clark.
What ever it is the Dragons are planning to party on Friday night like it’s 1959.
“On Friday November 5, we are encouraging people to dress in 1950’s- 1960’s style,  and we are going to award prizes for the best costumes,” said  Clark.
On Friday the Dragons play the Okotoks Oilers and on Saturday, they face off against the Brooks Bandits.
