Who Are You?

Maddy Cho

How long have you lived in the valley?
Just over three years.

Where are you originally from?
I’m originally from South Korea, but I used to live in Edmonton before I moved here.

Employer:
Owner/Operator of Maddy’s Chicken

What do you like most about your job?
I meet travellers all the time in the summer. I love people in Drumheller, that’s why I decided to open the business here. I like how families stick together here.

What is your dream job?
If it were possible maybe after 10 years I would want to grow my business into a franchise. I just want to be happy with my customers. Happiness is the most important.

What sort of activities do you like to do?
Maybe travelling, I used to travel a lot. I like watching soccer games and I love watching hockey games.

What is your claim to fame?
Everyone knows my business in town, but lots of people don’t really know who I am. People are surprised Maddy’s Chicken is from my name.

If you had to choose one food to eat for the rest of your life what would it be?
Of course Maddy’s Chicken! When my mom was pregnant with me she had a lot of dreams about chicken and used to eat it all the time. My zodiac is actually the rooster, too.

If you could hang out with anyone who would you choose?
Maybe Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un together. I’d do the chicken dance in front of them. I see them every day on the news here. My customers ask me about North Korea because I’m from South Korea, but I don’t know a lot about North Korea.

What movie, game, or book universe would you like to live in?
I love Spiderman. I don’t like games and don’t watch a lot of movies because I don’t have time. Every day is about the restaurant.

What are your words of wisdom?
My motto is just to be positive or at least try. I’m not usually a positive person but since I have this business it’s been my goal to be positive and nice to people.
