Passion Play draws visitors across Canada

passionplay.gifThe Canadian Badlands Passion Play is a renowned and remarkable work of the reenactment of the life of Jesus Christ. Set in a magnificent natural amphitheater located in the scenic Badlands, the terrain of hills and valleys, historical sets, as well as the costumes and actors will transport the audience back in time to witness the ministry, miracles, trials, and crucifixion of the Son of God. The three hour play begins at 3 p.m. on the Sunday performances, with evening performances each Friday and Saturday beginning at 6 p.m.

Experiences are accentuated by a pre-show one hour prior to the actual play. In the pre-show, you will see Temple priests going about their daily rituals, merchants selling their wares in the market and kids playing in the dusty streets of old Jerusalem under the shadows of the Roman occupation. Navigating your way to the site is easy... drive West on South Dinosaur Trail (or Highway 10), follow the ski hill signs, and turn South into the ski hill parking lot. The Passion Play Site is tucked in behind the ski hill lodge. Performance times have been changed due to the extreme heat Drumheller experiences in the summer months. Some say the play was ‘Too hot to handle’. Carry your hats and sunscreen along with plenty of fluids as the summer heat can be very taxing in Drumheller.

The play opens the evening of Friday, July 8 at 6 p.m.
