Tough Mudder Day One

The weather was beautiful, if not a bit windy in the afternoon, for the Saturday, September 6 Tough Mudder obstacle course at Drumheller's Stampede Grounds.

Drumheller's Dinosaur Downs was the starting point for the thousands of people who came to challenge themselves over the more than sixteen kilometre long course. Tough Mudder Alberta 2014 had mudders tackling over twenty obstacles that included Arctic Enema - which has people submerge in an almost sea-can size metal container of ice and cold water - and Electroshock Therapy - the obstacle before the finish line that emits a pulse similar to an electric fence.

Joel Liau, left, and Nicole LIvely, right, drove six hours from Cold Lake. Alberta to take part in Drumheller's Tough Mudder. Nicole signed up at Saturday's registration to tackle the course again Sunday.

Sunday's Tough Mudder registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Stampede Grounds.
