    Basketball is back and in full swing at DVSS with six teams ready to take to the court.
    The gym at the school has been chock full of aspiring hoopsters getting ready for the season.
    Athletic director Jeff Messom says they have just completed tryouts.
    “We saw lots of interest in the senior boys teams, our Grade 8/9 boys and Grade 7 girls teams,” he said.
    The Junior B Grade 7-8 girl team will be coached by Elesha Wright, the Junior B Grade 7/8 boys are coached by Ron Davies. The Grade 8/9 girls will be coached by Messom and Nicole Leggott, and Michael Lee coaches the Grade 8/9 boys.
    At the senior Level, Jennifer Raugust and Andy Neuman are back to coach the Senior Girls team, and Dyno alumni, Will Belliveau and James Fournier are coaching the senior boys.
    “All of our teams will be involved in various tournaments throughout the year either hosting or travelling,” said Messom. “Our school also continues to be a member of the Golden Hills Basketball League, providing the teams with additional games during the weeks from December to March.”
    The Junior A boy’s home opener is on December 8 versus Linden and the Junior A girl’s first home game is December 1 versus Trochu. The Junior B boy’s first home game is on December 1 versus Trochu, and the Junior B girl’s home opener is on December 8 versus Linden.
    The Senior boys’ season begins with a tournament in Acme on December 9 and 10, and their league home opener is on December 14 versus Acme.
    The Senior girls open the season with a home tournament on December 2 and 3.
