With much sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Eliza (Lolo) Slater on the evening of February 3rd, 2018. Lolo was born April 16, 1925 in Tarbrax, Scotland, the middle daughter of five girls and one brother. Lolo immigrated to Canada with her parents John (Jock) and Elizabeth Pennycook at the age of three. They settled in the Drumheller Valley where she grew up and eventually met and married Claude (Butch) Slater, raising a family of three. Lolo is survived by her children Claudeen (Patrick) Swain, Stacy Slater, Todd Slater (Liz), grandsons Garrett Swain, Ried (Amanda) Swain, great grandchildren, Paige, Claire, and Edwin, sisters, Essie Lepard, Jean Warkentin and Wilma Payne, sister-in-law Lillian Pennycook, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Lolo was predeceased by her husband Butch, her parents Jock and Elizabeth, sister Catherine Yemen, brother Stewart Pennycook. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Drumheller Health Centre (Continuing Care) and Dr. Liknes for their compassion and care.

Susanne Ing, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on February 9, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Susanne was born in Calgary at the General Hospital and shortly after her birth, her family moved to Drumheller to operate a postal outlet in the hamlet of Newcastle. She spent her life in the Drumheller area where she met her husband Russel, and they were married July 4, 1958. Due to shortage of work, they moved to Calgary in 1965 and resided in the same home until 2013. She took great pride in dedicating her life to her family. Due to her failing health, she was placed in long term care until her passing. Susanne is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Ed) Van De Ryse and Beverly Ing (Steen Korsgaard); grandchildren, Edward and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Lisa, Kayla and Kelsey; brother, James Charleston; life long friend, Marion Charleston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Susanne was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Russel Ing in 1995; her brother, Tommy; and her parents, William and Susan. As per Susanne’s wishes, no services will be held. Roberta “Bobbi” Lucille Richter of Brooks, Alberta, beloved wife of the late Frank Richter, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Brooks at the age of 86 years. Bobbi was born the rst child of Theodore and Mary Clark on October 19, 1931 in Lewiston, Idaho. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Richter and her daughter Lynn Smith. Bobbi is survived by her daughter Donna Christensen (Harold Becker); sons, Keith (Carmen) Christensen, Charles and Bruce Christensen; grandchildren, Justin, Jadelynn, Jennifer Moyer, Charlene Joy, and Casey; great-grandchildren, Cooper Joy and Nova Moyer. Cremation has taken place. Bobbi will be interned in the Hussar Cemetery, at a later date. In memory of Bobbi, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to Brooks and District Health Foundation, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B3.
