October 3, 1940 - September 8, 2019

Doug passed away on Sunday, September 8th, 2019 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Doug is survived by his wife Veronica, his children, Mike (Tammy), Marcie (Darcy), Trevor (Karen), Kyle (Shawna), Veronica’s daughters, Serena (Douglas), Mona (Merv), grandchildren; Matt (Jenna), Stephanie (Brandin), Tyler (Whitney), Jeff (Krystina), Chanelle (Mitch), Shelby (Adam), Taylor (Seth), Colin (Shirley), Rhett (Megan), Emma Rae, five great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Joyce (Hans) Soderstrom, Patsy Dunn, and numerous nieces and nephews and a life time of friends.
Doug was born in Drumheller and raised on the family farm and spent his entire life farming in the Churchill community. He was actively involved over the years in the community especially with Minor Hockey and the Kinsmen/K40 Club. Dad’s passion was putting in a hard days work and being surrounded by family and friends. His pride and joy were watching his grandchildren and now great grandchildren grow and share his wisdom.
Doug was predeceased by his parents; Frode and Phyllis, his brother Melvin and sister Ellen.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, September 16th, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Badlands Community Facility in halls A B C, with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating.
If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Drumheller Area Health Foundation (Palliative Care or Community Cancer Clinic).

November 14, 1939 - September 7, 2019

John Iver Olsen passed away peacefully in the Drumheller Hospital Sept 7, 2019 with his family by his side. John was born in Drumheller and lived on the farm near Morrin.  He was the youngest of George and Louise Olsen and brother to June, Orville, Ivan and Alf.  John is survived by his wife Paige, their four children, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers Orville (Marj), Alf (Marj), and many nieces and nephews. 

No one will believe this but, John requested no service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charitable organization in Morrin, or to Drumheller Area Health Foundation (Palliative Care).  The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the care he received in the hospital as well as the support of home care services.

June Rock of High River, AB passed away peacefully April 8th, 2019 at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary at the age of 73 years. She is survived by her beloved husband, George Rock; sister, Audrey Maschmeyer, daughters, Melanie Rock and Colleen MacNaughton (Robert); grandchildren, Émile Rock Bernier, Georgina MacNaughton, and Hugh MacNaughton; and by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A committal of ashes will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20 2019 at the Sarcee Butte Cemetery, Kneehill County, followed by a reception at the Orkney Community Centre on AB 837.
