GORDON, John W. (Jack)

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our father, husband, grandfather, uncle, and friend, John W. (Jack) Gordon on April 6, 2010 at the Drumheller Regional Health Complex after a short yet courageous battle with cancer. Born in Calgary, Jack was raised on the family farm near Carbon, where he continued to farm for the remainder of his career. Jack enjoyed softball and curling as well as being a member of the Carbon Square Dance Club and Carbon Old Timers Association. He also served on the Carbon United Church Board and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. After retiring to Nacmine in 2005, Jack enjoyed his time relaxing, reading and trying his luck on the occasional scratch and win ticket. Jack was predeceased by his sister Alice; his brothers Clifford and Charlie. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bonnie; brother Don (Ruth) of Trochu; sons: Scott, Colin (Treena), James (Amanda); grandchildren: James, Kyle, Anthony, Caleb, Joel, and Paige. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. He had many friends and was dear to many hearts.
A Memorial Service was held at the Carbon United Church, Carbon, AB on April 12, 2010.
