Don farmed and raised his family on the farm he still proudly owns  in the Rumsey area. He and Helen left in 1961 to move to Stettler where his jack of all trades ability allowed him to build houses etc.before going to CCIL Machinery from which he eventually retired.  After retirement Don and Helen enjoyed travelling camping and fishing with close friends and family. After Helen passed away, he enjoyed helping his son Ron and grandson Darrel with the farm eventually living with Ron and Betty and then spent some time with Don and Irene at their farm. Don spent the past few years living with his daughter Pat [Charlie] Pierce of Morrin, Charlie will miss his mentor where he gained so much knowledge from Don’s mister fix-it ability. Courtney~Winters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for memorial and interment to be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Drumheller Hospital or a charity of your choice.
