On January 05, 2009 our Dear Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother Jean passed away. Words cannot describe the loss and sadness Jean leaves behind. However this sadness and loss is tempered by our certain knowledge that our beloved Jeannie/Mom/Grandma is in a better place where there is no pain, no sadness, and no sighing. In addition to Jean’s sister Margaret of Arborg MB., and her brother Alban of Selkirk MB., Jean leaves behind her husband of 47 years Brian, her children; Dawn, of Sydney NS., Karen McKinnon of Drumheller AB., James of Meleb MB, and Llynne of Calgary. Jean also leaves behind Grand-children Ayla Kelly of Meleb, Donna Archer of Arborg MB, Hailey and Kelly Archer of Calgary AB. Plus, Karen and Gordon’s son Alex (AJ) McKinnon of Drumheller AB. In addition Jean also left behind 3 Great-Grand-children Natalie, Avery, and Miles. Jean was born in 1943 in North Selkirk MB. After school Jean was employed in various jobs such as the Booth Fish Plant, and Brown’s Bread, amongst others. In the summer of 1961 Jean met her future husband Brian. Jean and Brian were married on September 07 1962. Jean and Brian then lived for 9 years in various artic assignments such as Chesterfield Inlet, Fort Churchill, Baker Lake and Norman Wells NWT. It has to be said that Jean took to, and enjoyed living in the artic where she could interact with her Inuit friends on a daily basis. In 1970 Jean and Brian moved to Rainbow Lake AB which was then a small isolated oil industry town in the high north-west corner of Alberta. It was about 1969/70 that Jean’s Rheumatoid Arthritis began. Jean raised her four children as well as three of her grandchildren all the while in pain that most people would have been crippled by. However as time went on the physical costs of constantly battling the rheumatoid arthritis took its toll. Sadly by the summer of 2008 our Jeannie was going from one illness to the next, finally on January 05 2009 the good Lord released our Jean from her pain. Our Jeannie/Mom/Grandma is loved, and sadly missed.
