MOLYNEUX RUTH ANNE

MOLYNEUX, Ruth Anne

October 1, 1932 - September 21, 2014

Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Drumheller Health Center surrounded by her affectionate family at the age of 81 years. Ruth is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jack; two children, Sharon (Paul), Doug (Traci); nine grandchildren, Brad, Cory, Matthew, Cassie, Janelle, Ashley, Meghan, Suzanne, Olivia; and eight great grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Harrison; brothers, Bill, Tom, and Albert; and sisters, Dorcus and Shelia. Mom played on the ladies softball team in Nacmine and was an avid lover of sports. She was also very involved in the Nacmine community. Mom was the secretary of the water Co-op, worked at bingo, and volunteered to help with many bridal showers at the community hall. In 1950 Ruth met the love of her life, Jack Molyneux through mutual friends, Fran Broom and Stella Anderson at a social event at the Elks Club. The two started their life together in Nacmine in 1957 and have been together 57 years. Ruth was a devoted wife to her husband and enjoyed her Sunday morning coffee visits with her family. Mom was a very proud Grandma, involved in her grandchildren’s lives through attending school events and joining in on family vacations to Fairmont. She also had her grandchildren over for many sleepovers and it was known that grandma would spoil them with all her treats! Grandma will also be remembered for her special Christmas dinners where the whole family would gather and fill the kitchen with fun and laughter. Family was mom’s joy in life and she will be greatly missed by her husband, children, and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #200, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6. A Memorial Service will be held, please go to www.myalternatives.ca for service details and to leave messages of condolence for the family.
