Trevor was raised on a farm located on the east side of the Red Deer River valley, overlooking the Toleman Bridge. In his youth, he worked for numerous farmers before venturing on his own doing general trucking. Trevor settled down with his wife Mary. They purchased and ran a grocery store in Rumsey, as well as a grocery store in Trochu. During this time Trevor also worked as a janitor at the Rumsey school for 27 years, as well as road construction with the MD of Starland County. Mary and Trevor also purchased and ran hotels in Grande Prairie, Rosedale, Trochu, and Bowden. All these ventures and life experiences gave Trevor many stories to tell. Trevor made a lot of friends throughout his life and was able to meet many people that became dear to him. Trevor could turn one cup of coffee into a whole pot of coffee while he told stories and talked to anyone who would listen. Trevor loved animals and there was never a shortage of them at the Rumsey Game Farm. Trevor raised almost every unusual animal there was. In the end his farm is mainly bison, which he dearly loved and was very proud of. A celebration of Trevor’s life will be held at Rumsey community hall on September 30th at 2 pm.
