RIGGS, Gordon “PORKY”
December 12, 1960 - April 12, 2014
It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Gord passed away on April 12, 2014 in Rocky Mountain House, with his family by his side. Gord fought a long, difficult battle with diabetes, resulting in heart disease, renal failure and amputations. “PORKY” lived his life to the fullest, he worked hard and played hard. “PORKY” had a heart of gold, he would do anything for his family and friends. In the last few months, Gord was blessed with a special caregiver and best bud JoAnn Campeau. Gord is survived by his mom, Shirley Riggs, his sister Deb Wynia, nieces, Corinna (Lee), Jenna (Colin), one great nephew, and one great niece, brother, Terry (Brenda) Riggs, sister, Lisa (Troy) Wolf, nephew, Colton, niece Jessica, stepdaughter, Candice Hunter (Derek), wife, Allison Riggs, and a lifetime of friends. Gord was predeceased by his Dad, Vern Riggs, brother-in-law, John Wynia, and uncle, Lloyd Riggs. A celebration of Gord’s life will be held Thursday April 17, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. from The Morrin Community Hall with Pastor Skip MacArthur officiating. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
