LASLO Frank Rudolph

LASLO, Frank Rudolph
June 5, 1939 - September 20, 2013

Mr. Frank Rudolph Laslo of the City of Drumheller passed away peacefully on September 20, 2013 after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis, at the age of 74 years with his family by his side. Frank was born in Drumheller on June 5th, 1939 to Regina and John Laslo.  He was the 9th of 11 children.  He attended school in Midlandvale, and completed high school in Drumheller.  He then went on to Sait, and successfully completed several courses with honours.  Having finished school, he returned home to the farm, standing alongside of the Red Deer River just west of Drumheller. He spent a few years working on the rigs for Peter Bawdin up around Inuvik.  Frank loved the north and had full intentions of working in the north for a longer period of time.  Having returned to the farm he accepted a job working for Harold Mueller at Orkney where a very special bond developed with Harold, his wife Lorna and their fine children, Elaine, Darcy, Maxine, Donald, and Val.  This wonderful friendship still remains today. Blanche and Frank spent 36 years farming together, a life they loved.  They built a new home and spent many wonderful years in their home entertaining friends, family and travelling. After Frank was diagnosed with M.S., they retired into town where they still resided up to Frank’s passing.  Besides his loving wife, Blanche, Frank is survived by his step-son Stephen,  daughter-in-law Vicki, twin granddaughters, Justine and Kendra.  The happiness and love he had for his two girls helped him cope during his illness. Frank is also survived by sisters, Mary Doktorchik (Bill deceased), Linda Perrier (Lloyd deceased), sister-in-law , Alice (Sandy deceased), brothers, Henry Laslo (Karen), and Joey Laslo (Norma), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Frank was predeceased by his loving parents, Regina and John, brothers, John, Andy, Sandy, and James, sisters, Julia and Sandra. Frank and I would like to thank all his wonderful nieces, nephews and wonderful friends who always took time to stop and visit and took him for so many enjoyable drives to check the crops and the country side he loved.  For this, we are so grateful. A Funeral Mass for Frank will be held at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Fernando as celebrant, a private family interment will follow at the Drumheller Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 175 Bloar Street East Suite 700 North Tower, Toronto, Ontario, M4W 3R8  online- www.m.s.society.ca
