1934 - 2010


Mrs. Shirley Ann Schinnour of Pine Lake, Alberta, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the age of 75 years. Shirley and her husband, Lloyd were the owners of Olde Tyme Antiques in Calgary until their retirement in 2003. Upon retirement she led a very active life at Pine Lake, Alberta where she engaged in gardening, photography, quilting, family events as well as many community and church activities. Shirley will be very sadly missed but lovingly cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Shirley leaves to mourn her loss, her six sons, Allan (Georgi), Ken (Marcie), Ron (Cathy), Gary (Jane), Bruce (Debbie), Brian (Melissa), nine grandsons, thirteen granddaughters, fourteen great grandchildren, and her extended family. Shirley is also survived by her brother, Ralph McFadyen and sister, Muriel Hanna. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lloyd and their son Rex. The family would like to extend their deep felt thanks to Dr. Tina Hoang and the staff of the Chinook Hospice for the special care and compassion they provided to Shirley. A celebration of Shirley’s life will  be held at EVENTIDE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley’s honour may be made directly to the Chinook Hospice, 1261 Glenmore Trail S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2V 4Y8.
