havens.jpgJulie Havens of Mayerthorpe, AB formerly known of Whitecourt, AB, passed away on January 2, 2009 at the age of 59 years. She is survived by her devoted family – she will never be forgotten and always loved by her daughters and their families, Katrina (Troy) Cartwright and Laurie (Jody) Anderson of Whitecourt, AB; and her loving husband Darrel Nelson (Mayerthorpe). Her memory will always be in her five grandchildren’s hearts and minds. Vince and Levi Cartwright, Samantha, Quinlan and Savannah Anderson. Julie is also survived by her three brothers Gary (Mannville), Don and Dan Buterman (Cranbrook, B.C.); as well as numerous other family members and many dear friends. Julie was predeceased by both of her parents Egbert and Anne, sister Sally and brothers Bert and Bruce Buterman. Julie was born in Drumheller on February 10, 1949. She was a nurse for more than forty years and throughout her career she travelled and worked all over the world, including Canada, United States, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and the Arctic. She had a vibrancy about her and people were drawn to her infectious energy and passion for living life to the fullest. She touched the lives of many people and her strength and bravery throughout her life, and even in illness, amazed and inspired us all.
