Franklin Rosevelt

February 19, 1934 - December 26, 2023

On Tuesday, December 26th Franklin Rosevelt Peters passed away peacefully in (Drumheller, Alberta) at the Sunshine Lodge at age of 89 just shy of his 90th birthday. Frank was born on the homestead in Piapot, Saskatchewan (Sec.36, Tp11, RGE 24, W3RD, SASK). Being the second youngest of 11 siblings. Frank learned at a young age how to battle adversity. This shaped him into the hard working and loving man we all knew him as. On July 23rd, 1966 Frank and Shirley (Frey) got married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shirley brought two sons, Bruce and Brian and a daughter, Debbie. Together they had one son, Douglas Frank Peters. Frank was predeceased by his wife Shirley, Son Brian, and Daughter Debbie. Survived by his Son Doug (Deanna), Bruce (Shirley), Granddaughters Cersten (Nick), Brayden (Derrick) and his many great-grandchildren. Frank started out his career in Calgary with Bow Valley Resources; shortly after Frank started his entrepreneurial journey and moved his family to Standard and started up his own propane business called Frank’s Propane providing propane to central Alberta. Frank and Shirley ventured into the bar and hotel business where they became well known around the town of Drumheller with multiple establishments. Frank was still active in his career at Clemcor storage at the time of his passing. Frank and Shirley chased their son all around the western Canada with Doug’s racing passion. It was a family affair for many years. Then shortly after came his lovely grandchildren, (Cersten Caillie Jayden Peters)(Brayden Christie Capree Peters) which became their pride and joy. Frank will be dearly missed by his loving family. To respect Franks wishes there will be no formal funeral. The family will have a private service at a later date. The family would like to thank everyone at Sunshine Lodge, and his medical team for their wonderful care of Frank during his stay. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Center in Calgary.
