Sunrise for Monica Strout was August 9, 1945 in Cornwall, England. She married David Sleep October 15, 1966. They came with their two children to Manitoba in 1987. After having a dairy farm, a motel and divorcing, “Gran” came to Alberta to be closer to her family. She settled in Drumheller where she remained until her passing.
She leaves son Ian, daughter Kathryn (Todd) Boorse and grandchildren Kelsey and Cody as well as sister Julia Atkinson in England. Marie and Jerry and confidant Sonja Koustrup will miss her along with a host of friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and sister Margaret in England.
A farewell Celebration of Life was held June 10, 2023 so family and friends could bid Monica ‘bon voyage’.
Sunset for Monica was on June 13, 2023 at the Drumheller Health Centre. She was extremely appreciative of the MAID staff. PEACE at last.
