We Have But A Moment
David was born January 6th 1959. He passed away with his loving family at his side at 4:50 pm on May 23, 2018 at Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. He was born in Drumheller and spent his early years on the farm with his family in the Wintering Hills, southeast of Dalum. Some of David’s fondest memories are from his days on the farm and his childhood friends. David was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. His accomplishments include receiving a welding ticket and his journeyman in mechanics. We are proud to say he was a committee member of the Red Seal Interprovincial Standards Association for Motorcycle Mechanics and was a certified Harley Davidson Mechanic. Dave was remembered by his family and friends for his bravery, loyalty, and love of family, friends, life, fun and adventure. The mountains were very special to Dave. We will miss his singing, guitar playing, enthusiasm for the little things, sense of humor, compassion and kindness. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and had his last motorcycle shop in Whitehorse, Yukon. Some of his most treasured memories are the times he spent with his kids: camping, taking them for rides on his motorbike, cooking, sitting around the fire pit out in Dalum, and their visits and phone calls. He took pride in his tomato plants, pepper plants, and cooking. He loved to see the deer from his home. No one could take a small event and turn it into a moment quite like Dave. We shall miss him dearly forever. David is predeceased by many friends and family including his father Nicholai in 1969. He will forever be in the hearts of his family: his mother Elsie, his children, Kevinee, Tasha (Michel), and Nicholas (Kristina); grandchildren Tyree and Draiton; sisters, Karen (Rob) and Christine. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. We request that in memory of Dave, lend a hand to someone in need. Celebration of Life is Thursday, May 31, 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Drumheller. Interment at the Drumheller Cemetery and lunch to follow at Grace Lutheran Church. We would love to see you there.
